It's Wednesday, I'm bored, and I am willing to proofread your business documents

Let’s talk staying at home. Last week was my last day at my crazy job. And it has definitely been blissful to not have to worry about all of the problems that I have thought about for the past four years. The first couple of days were great- lunches and dinners with friends, facials (side bar- I freaking heart facials so much- if you have not had one you have not lived so I suggest you get that handled), etc. Now I am finding myself missing the whole sitting at a desk and getting things done routine. This is what I am good at. I am good at writing great emails and documents and solving client issues. I am good at bossing my team around (let’s face it- everybody in the world has known since I was about 3 years old that I would someday get paid to boss people around- it just comes naturally to me). At home there is no one to boss around. Well, there is Lucky (the dog) but she isn’t doing anything but lying around so that is pointless. I am not so much for the household type errands. On Monday I had to go to the post office and I had to give myself a pep talk about it just to get over there. So this is how I find myself on the middle of a beautiful Wednesday afternoon blogging (and pretty successfully putting off statistics), wishing that I could be a consultant or something-just for a couple of days. I need a project- and not a craft (which never turn out as I had hoped anyways), an actual business project. If you know of one of these that needs a smart fun girl to help them out- send them my way!

And we're back....again!

Well...it's been a few months (or years- however you want to count it)...and I'm back! And this blog is going to be better than ever...well- at least until I abandon blogging again- but at this point, from my couch here in the SLC I am planning on blogging up a storm! Granted, the view may be quite a bit different in the Iowa and I will be changing my tune...but for that you'll just have to wait and see.

Yes, if you are not already in the know, Tom and I are taking our talents to Iowa City (oh Lebron- that was a great statement- it never gets old). I will be rocking my superior business skills getting an MBA at Tippie, the business school at the University of Iowa. "Iowa? Don't they have tornadoes there?" you say. Yes, Iowa. And yes tornadoes. And yes, I'm terrified. I recently had to Google "what to do in a tornado" and now I feel marginally prepared. That Google was closely followed by "dogs and tornadoes"- I had to know if my dog came with special dog instincts that would allow her to automatically know what to do- and my research thus far has been inconclusive. This is UTAH- there is no extreme weather here- so it is natural that I'm slightly (or maybe excessively) worried about the weather, right?

However- fair warning to all my friends and/or blog stalkers- this blog about to get a little more...real. Let's face it- if you know me you know you that I am not Pollyanna. Not to mention that I have no offspring to plaster all over this blog- and everybody has already seen a shitload of pictures of my dog (and you better get ready for more, friends), while I do own a camera, I basically choose to take no pictures, so get ready for a lot of rambling, wonderfully laced with a bit of profanity, a couple pics of my Midwestern misadventures and whatever else I cook up. So, if that isn't your blog flavor, I can probably direct you to one that is more your speed.

And now for your viewing pleasure- Tom and I recently got our family pictures done so we could capture our current level of hotness- and here are a couple (Denise- if you are reading this and I have posted the wrong version of these pics hit me up and I will change them). These pictures were taken by the wonderful Denise of Bella Blue Photography- she does a great job and I recommend her 110%.

And here is another one so that you can see that we are, indeed, adorable.
